Crew are your organization’s frontline workers — the people who use a custom app on a shared tablet in a store, not at a desk. They don’t need an email address or an Oxygen account: a worker signs in with their identifier and a PIN, and only on a tablet you’ve enrolled as a kiosk. Crew are managed by organization Owners and Admins from Settings → Organization → Crew.

Enroll a worker

  1. Open Settings → Organization → Crew and select Enroll worker.
  2. Enter their Name, an Identifier (an employee number or short handle, unique within the organization), and a 4–8 digit PIN.
  3. Choose the Apps they can open.
From a worker’s row you can change their apps, record where they work (location, position, and who they report to), Reset PIN…, or Suspend them — a suspended worker can’t sign in until you Reinstate them.

Enroll a kiosk

A PIN only works on an enrolled kiosk, so a worker’s PIN is useless on any other device.
  1. On the Kiosks tab, select New kiosk.
  2. Name it (for example, Front counter), and optionally choose the Location it sits at and the app it Opens to.
  3. Set how long it waits before it signs itself out — 30 minutes by default.
  4. Open the Enroll link on the tablet — copy it, or scan its QR code.
If a link is lost, create a new one from the kiosk’s row. Revoke kiosk stops the tablet from accepting sign-ins.

Signing in on a kiosk

An enrolled kiosk’s login page shows Who’s on shift? instead of the normal sign-in. The worker enters their ID and PIN, and lands in the kiosk’s app. Admins can still reach the normal sign-in from the kiosk with Sign in as an admin. When a custom app signs a worker out, the kiosk returns to Who’s on shift? for the next person.

What crew can and can’t do

  • Crew only see the apps you grant them. They are not organization members and don’t appear in Settings → Organization → Members.
  • Inside an app’s functions, a crew member is identified by ctx.user with email: null, and their reach — the locations they’re assigned to — decides what data the app shows them. See Oxygen Functions.
